The City of Novato has refreshed its website, located as always at novato.org, which features a new modern layout and design with the primary goal to improve access to public services and information for the Novato community.
The new, service-focused website includes:
- Quick Access Buttons: These buttons on the homepage, as well as department homepages, make getting to our most popular pages even easier.
- “Find a Service” Tool: This new website feature offers drop-down options to help users navigate to the service they need before being directed to a webpage.
- Fully Responsive Design: Webpages are resizable for an improved user experience on any screen size, including smart devices such as phones and tablets.
- Accessibility Features: Designed with accessibility in mind, the site features clear and legible font, organized webpages for improved readability as well as a new accessibility menu. Novato continuously evaluates its services, policies, and practices to identify ways to improve access.
Assistant City Manager Jessica Deakyne remarked “After months of work on the backend of the website using data and feedback to improve usability, we are happy to launch our newly refreshed site designed to make it easier for people to connect with Novato and stay informed. Novato’s website is a 24/7 resource of information for our community, and I want to say a sincere thank you to our Communications Department and our web team, comprised of staff from all City departments, for their work on this project.”
The City’s website is a work-in-progress, and we continue to refine and improve based on user feedback.
As with most website launches, it may take search engines, like Google, several days to display newly launched webpages. If you happen to land on a page that is no longer available, you may have reached a link to our former site and will be asked to submit a broken link report. Submitting a broken link for review is optional, however your feedback can help us quickly identify and resolve issues.
