Housing Element Update Revised Public Hearing Draft Available for Review
Post Date:01/26/2024 3:20 PMThe Novato 6th Cycle Housing Element Revised Public Hearing Draft is now available for public review. Since adopting the City’s 6th Cycle Housing Element in January 2023, the City has continued to work with the State Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) on a series of revisions in response to their findings. This work will lead the City into State certification and local adoption of a Revised Housing Element.
In response to HCD’s second review letter dated December 13, 2023, the City conducted edits to its adopted Housing Element. The Novato 6th Cycle Housing Element Revised Public Hearing Draft contains these edits and is available for public review at novato.org/housingelement.

The Cycle 6 Housing Element Update is an important part of the Novato General Plan in that it assesses the City’s housing needs for the next 8 years (2023-2031). It lays out specific policies for addressing those needs in compliance with state law and local interests.
