Special Recruitment for Commission, Committee, and Board Seats

The Novato City Council is currently accepting applications for a special recruitment to fill vacancies on several of its key advisory bodies. If you are passionate about shaping the future of your community, consider applying for an open seat on the Planning Commission, Design Review Commission, Multicultural Advisory Commission, or the Complete Streets and Pathways Oversight Committee. 

These commissions and committees play an essential role in informing City policy and ensuring that community voices are reflected in the decision-making process across a range of critical areas—from planning and design to cultural inclusion and transportation accessibility. 

Your voice matters—join the conversation and make a difference in your community! 

Open Seats: 

  • Planning Commission – 1 regular seats: Reviews land use, development proposals, and makes recommendations on planning policies. 
  • Design Review Commission – 2 regular seats, 2 alternate seats: Advises on the aesthetics, site design, architecture and landscaping of projects. 
  • Multicultural Advisory Commission – 2 regular seats: Promotes equity, inclusion, and diversity.
  • Complete Streets and Pathways Oversight Committee – 1 regular seat: Guides the development of safe and accessible routes for pedestrians, cyclists, and all modes of travel. 

Seats are limited, apply today! Applications are due by Sunday, May 25 at 5pm.
