The City of Novato and SEIU Local 1021 have reached a tentative labor agreement. The agreement is subject to ratification by SEIU membership and final approval by Novato City Council during its regular meeting on Tuesday, October 14.
SEIU Local 1021 represents city maintenance workers, building inspectors, parks and recreation coordinators, planners and office assistants.
The proposed contract includes the same base terms offered to the City’s other employee groups:
- Base salary increase of 11% over three years.
- Up to an additional 13% equity adjustment to move positions closer to market median.
- Continued 100% coverage of medical benefits for employees and their families.
If approved by the City Council, pay increases for SEIU members would be effective October 5, 2025.
