The City of Novato is now accepting proposals from qualified property management firms to manage the leases and maintain the premises for two City-owned properties: Novato Arts Center and Carlile House.
Each of the two properties is a civic landmark for its community purpose, historical legacy and distinguished place in Novato’s architectural heritage. The first is the Novato Arts Center, the former headquarters of the Hamilton Air Force Base, dedicated in 1935, and now the location of an artist studio complex and the Beso Bistro restaurant. The second is the Carlile House, distinguished by its late 19th century origins in Novato’s downtown corridor and home to the Novato Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center and a small business office.
The City seeks an experienced blend of real estate and administrative expertise to manage these unique destinations with an emphasis on lease transactions, property maintenance, contracting supervision for light construction, financial administration and tenant relations.
Interested firms can access the full Request for Proposals (RFP) and submission guidelines at novato.gov/doingbusiness.
Responses must include a brief introduction to the firm’s areas of expertise, a proposal summary addressing how the firm would perform the core responsibilities described, a comprehensive cost proposal, business references and a signed acknowledgement that the firm is capable of performing the duties and meeting the requirements described in the RFP.
