To view permit records and plans dated prior to 2000, please use the self-scheduling tool below to book an appointment at our self-service kiosk located at the City of Novato Permit Center, 922 Machin Avenue.
Permit Application Support
Need assistance with a permit application submittal? Schedule an appointment with permit staff who will assist you in creating an account and completing an application in our Novato Permits portal. The Novato Permits portal allows you to apply for Building, Planning, or Public Work permits, schedule inspections, file code enforcement requests, and making secure online payments. Appointments are required to ensure we have the necessary staff available to assist you.
To reserve your time slot for either service, please schedule an appointment for our self-service kiosk.
The Kiosk may be reserved Monday through Thursday from 1pm–3pm. Drop-in hours are from 9:00 AM–1:00 PM; however, kiosk availability and staff assistance are not guaranteed during drop-in times.
Staff is also available Monday to Thursday 9am–11 am on a first come first serve basis to assist with questions regarding Building, Planning, Public Works, code inquiries.
