Solar APP+ Application: An automated online portal for application and instantaneous review of new and retrofit residential rooftop solar and storage systems.  For residential projects exclusively available to contractors with General 'Type B', Solar 'C46', or Electrical 'C10' licenses

Solar APP+ is designed to provide a code-compliance check for the majority of residential, roof mounted, new and retrofit photovoltaic systems with and without energy storage systems.

To process a revision, you must first initiate it through SolarAPP+. Then, if approved follow with a revision request through the Novato Permit Portal. For more information, you may review our SolarAPP+ revision guide.

Note: It is NOT a requirement for licensed contractors to use the Solar APP+, contractors may choose to apply through the Residential Trade > Solar option instead.

Non-licensed individuals and/or owner builders must apply for a permit using the Residential Trade > Solar permit type and subtype.
