Salary Schedule
Starting salary is generally the first step of the range listed; however, advanced step appointments may be approved based upon qualifications when warranted. Subsequent salary increases within the range are scheduled yearly and may be granted based upon satisfactory service.

Medical Benefits
The City contracts with CalPERS for the health program. The City contribution toward medical premiums are based on enrollment level. Employees who do not enroll in a health plan through the City receive up to $250 per month in addition to gross earnings.

Dental Benefits
The City contracts with Ameritas and has five PPO plans to choose from. Dental benefits are employee paid and range in cost from $45.49 - $215.19/month.
Vision
The City pays 100% of the monthly vision plan insurance premium rate for the standard plan on behalf of each regular full-time employee and their eligible dependents.
Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
The FSA allows employees to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for dependent care and/or out-of-pocket health care costs. Employee paid.
Life Insurance
Benefit varies by bargaining unit.

Long Term Disability
Employee paid optional benefit plan. Monthly rates are based on salary and vary by employee.
State Disability Insurance (SDI)
Select bargaining units contribute to SDI.
Mandated employee contribution of 1.2%
Deferred Compensation 457 Program
A tax exempt retirement plan that is available to government employees. Contributions to the 457 plan come from employee compensation.
Providers: Lincoln Financial, Nationwide, and Mission Square.
Medicare
Mandated employee contribution of 1.45%
Educational Expense Reimbursement
Reimbursement is available for job-related courses taken for professional development.
$150 per fiscal year - $750 per fiscal year based on bargaining unit.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
A City-paid EAP is available for employees and members of their household.
No cost to employee.
Social Security
The City does not participate in Social Security.
Leaves:
The City offers 13 designated paid holidays plus one floating holiday; 80 hours of vacation to start (increases based on years of service and employee's MOU or Compensation Plan); 12 days per year of sick leave (unused leave applied to service credit at retirement).
