Project Overview
Hamilton Pool Play Structure Assessment & Replacement Project (CIP No. 27-003)
Description
The Hamilton activity pool is home to a water play structure that has become a favorite among our youngest residents on hot summer days. This structure is nearing the end of its useful life, and the City is beginning a community engagement process to explore what comes next.
The assessment is planned for early FY 2026/27 with potential future design and replacement scheduled for later years. The recommendations received from the assessment for the new structure, and associated pool infrastructure, will meet current safety standards while providing enhanced recreational opportunities for pool users.
The initial assessment phase of this project was included and approved in the Fiscal Year 2026/2027 Budget for Capital Improvement Projects by City Council.
Location
Hamilton Community Pool, 203 El Bonito Drive in Novato
Benefit
This assessment project will provide a comprehensive understanding of the required modifications associated with replacing the play structure in the Activity Pool including those related to the pool infrastructure to meet current code and safety standards in preparation for a larger replacement project.
Schedule
The assessment is planned for Summer 2026.
Cost
$50,000 for the assessment funded through Long-Term Maintenance Infrastructure funds. Costs associated with any future replacement project have not been identified or budgeted at this time.
