3/1/18 Update: At the November 14, 2017 meeting, City Council authorized the City Manager to sign the Notice of Completion and formally accept the construction contract work as complete.6/29/17 Update: Construction on Arthur Street has been completed. Some minor clean up will be done by Friday, June 30. Project work will commence on Plum Street following the 4th of July Holiday, and will last for approximately 3 weeks.
*Special Note – Temporary Parking Changes on Plum Street: No Parking signs on the north side of the road may be temporarily covered and barricades may be placed on the south side of the project site for the duration of construction activities.

Safe Pathways to Schools Sidewalk Gap Closures - Arthur and Plum Streets; (Project # 16-010)
Description
This project includes, but is not limited to: removal and construction of sidewalk, curb & gutter, driveways, driveway approaches, ADA ramps, Type “A” catch basins, installation of prefabricated manhole, 12” HDPE storm drain, curb face drainage outlets, reconfiguration of existing sanitary sewer manholes, removal of existing AC roadway. Miscellaneous items such as construction type “A” barricade, relocation of traffic signs and replacement of pavement striping and markings will also be included.

On designated routes to schools for Novato High School (on Arthur Street between Indian Valley Road and Taft Court) and for the Olive Elementary School (on Plum Street between Chase Street and the back school entrance).

On March 14, 2017 the City Council awarded the construction contract for this project to Coastside Concrete and Construction Inc. The first working day for this project was May 30, 2017, and the duration of the construction contract is 35 working days. Construction will begin on Arthur Street.

$440,000, including $350,000 of Marin County Measure A funds. (Strategy 4.3, Safe Pathways to Schools).
