Voices & Visions: Art In Public Places Partnership
The City of Novato Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department is proud to partner with Alchemia to bring rotating art installations to downtown Novato kiosks. Six artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) will have their work featured in these highly visible public spaces, creating opportunities for our community to experience their talent and creativity.
This partnership builds on the success of last year's Voices & Visions Art Walk, a Leadership Novato project through the Novato Chamber of Commerce that displayed Alchemia artists' work throughout downtown businesses in April 2025. The overwhelming community response to that initiative inspired this ongoing collaboration to ensure these talented artists continue to have visibility in our downtown.
About the Partnership
Throughout the year, artwork from six different Alchemia artists will be displayed in downtown kiosks, each featuring the artist's work alongside their photo and bio. This rotating exhibition celebrates the artists' individual voices while enriching Novato's public art landscape.
About Alchemia
Alchemia supports artists who have intellectual and developmental disabilities to share their voices through the visual, performing, and creative arts. Since 1998, Alchemia has been elevating the presence of artists with IDD and helping them develop their talents across Sonoma and Marin Counties.
Art is a language that transcends labels—and through this partnership, we're creating space for all artists to be seen, celebrated, and valued in our community.
